Aspen and Cody Cronkhite, and Cody’s parents, started Cronkhite Beef Company when their neighbour sold his butchery business to them.
The married couple knew they wanted to expand, already being farmers on a four-generation farm. The timing aligned well, and Cronkhite Beef Company began.
While at a meeting with their accountant, they voiced their idea to design a website. The accountant suggested Aspen and Cody connect with Grace Evans from the Digital Service Squad. A free resource offered by Community Futures Chinook that assists in digital assets and education.
“Grace was just amazing to work with. We’re already getting new clients every week from our new website, and it’s helped me a lot with time management. I used to have people messaging for prices and information, but now all that information is on the website for people to find right away,” says Aspen.
Having a fully designed and functioning website, Aspen says they’ve been meeting new clients they would have never been able to reach without an online presence. She has already shared Community Futures contact information with those she knows are looking to open a business.
Along with the Digital Service Squad, Community Futures Chinook offers loans, grants, business plans, and free educational training.
“There isn’t a lot of extra money when starting a business, so to be able to have this free resource available to us is really amazing,” says Aspen.
From the farm to the butchery, this locally-owned and family-run business strives to have top quality products, and now great customer communication, while they expand their services.
