Disabilities aren’t always visible and more than 60% of Canadians are working with some form of barrier or health condition.  Everyone’s needs differ and we recognize that only YOU know what works best for YOU.

Get the support you need to build your dream business.

 Self-employment can be a great way for persons with a disability or an ongoing medical condition to get back into the workforce.

We know that 1 in 4 people in Canada is working with some form of health condition and, quite often, the "disability" isn't visible.  Community Futures Entrepreneurs with Disability Program (EDP) is an innovative program that helps people working with barriers or health conditions start and grow businesses. We offer training, mentoring, loans and other financial support, and we’re here to help you every step of the way..

This specialized program includes:

  • Detailed business concept assessment
  • 1-on-1 business coaching and mentorship
  • Access to business loans
  • Technology training
  • Mental wellness resources

Eligibility for the Entrepreneurs With Disability Program

Community Futures helps people working with barriers or health conditions to start and grow businesses.

To be eligible for the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities program you must:

  • Have a self-disclosed disability or ongoing health condition
  • Live in rural Alberta
  • Have a viable business idea
  • Be able to contribute in some way to your business
