With a business already in his portfolio, Larry Liebelt saw a gap in the market and opened the only storage facility in Milk River in November 2024.
He was familiar with Community Futures Chinook, as he worked with the organization 16 years ago to open his first business.
A second reach out connected him with Alvaro Mendes, the business analyst with Community Futures Chinook, and Liebelt was approved to receive the Beautification Loan for TJ Storage.
The owner used the loan towards building a fence around the storage yard to ensure it is safe and secure, and felt confident opening the doors to his business with this finished element.
“It’s great to have this opportunity to receive money from an organization like Community Futures Chinook. It’s an easy process and Alvaro was great to work with,” says Liebelt.
The owner of TJ Storage says having the loan available while starting up his business minimized a lot of the upfront costs that would have come with building a secure fence. And it’s a bonus that the Beautification Loan is interest-free.
